Today is the Day

3,125 people died this last hour.

A total of 75,000 people are going to die today.

75,000 people are going to die tomorrow.

And the next day.

And the day after that.

How many of them are going to Heaven? How many of them are going to hell?

There is no time to waste. Jesus wants us to reach the world. But why should we even care?

TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION

Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.
(2 Corinthians 6:2)

We never know when we’re going to die. But we can know where we’ll end up when we die. We can plan all we want to, but one wrong move on a highway and all our planning could be for nothing.

I’M BEGGING TO BE PINNED OR REPOSTED. JUST HOVER OVER ME!

I probably scared a little girl once by doing this, but I was telling her about Jesus at the park. I pointed at the cars driving down the state road next to us and asked her, “What would happen if one of those cars swerved and hit you? Where would you spend eternity?”

That opened her eyes to how short our lives can be. Things get real fast when you talk about what will happen to you when you die.

The little girl said that she didn’t know. So I led her to Jesus right then and there, and now she knows that when she dies she’ll spend her eternity in Heaven with Jesus.

Last Sunday at my church, a 60-year-old man that was given only five more weeks to live got saved. We prayed for healing so he wouldn’t die from cancer, but now he has no fear of death. He knows where he’s going.

We don’t know when people are going to die. Our friends, family, and strangers that we meet could be one of those 75,000 human beings that die every day and meet their Maker.

EVERY MOMENT WE HESITATE TO OBEY GOD IS A CHANCE WASTED

If you’re anything like me, you’re going crazy over this information. It makes me want to run outside my house and flail and go crazy and go door to door telling people about Jesus before they die.

But all we really have to do about this is obey God; more on that in the last point.

There’s a story about a Christian man who had a Muslim neighbor. Every day for years, they would see each other in the morning and wave. They were great friends.

One night, the Christian man had a dream that his Muslim neighbor died and went to hell. In the dream, the Muslim man wrote the Christian man a letter, saying, “I lived next to you every day for years. You were my friend. Why did you never tell me? WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME?”

The man shot awake, sweating. He rushed next door to tell his Muslim neighbors about Jesus.

After banging on the door, the Muslim man’s wife answered.

The Christian man asked to see the Muslim man.

The wife shook her head. “He died last night.”

These situations happen every day.

They’re what I think about when I’m nervous to go up to somebody and tell them about Jesus. Along with boldness from the Holy Spirit, they’re what lead me on to tell these people about Him.

I’M BEGGING TO BE PINNED OR REPOSTED. JUST HOVER OVER ME!

Every moment we hesitate to obey God is a chance wasted. I remember one time I was at a water park with my friends and we were climbing the stairs to a water ride. On the halfway landing, a teenage girl stood alone.

My heart was thumping out of my chest. I should tell her about Jesus. But the line was moving faster, and I didn’t want to talk to someone I didn’t know. I’m a socially awkward and shy little bean, you know.

But God told me to. So I put my pride in my pocket and asked people to excuse me as I plodded down the stairs to the halfway point.

“Has anyone ever told you that God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life?

Turns out, someone had. She was already a Christian. But her face lit up. God obviously had a reason for sending me to tell her that.

Who knows? Maybe she felt alone in her faith. Maybe she was facing persecution. Maybe she was doubting God.

Had I not obeyed God, who knows what could’ve happened?

WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT RIGHT NOW?

God doesn’t want us to feel stressed and overwhelmed about the 40% of the world that hasn’t heard about His Son. I have to keep constantly reminding myself that the fate of the world doesn’t rest on my shoulders. I’m not the only person who cares about where people will spend eternity.

I’M BEGGING TO BE PINNED OR REPOSTED. JUST HOVER OVER ME!

What God does want us to do is obey Him the moment He tells us to do something. Delayed obedience is disobedience.

In Mark 16:15, Jesus says, “Go out into all the word and preach the Gospel to every single person.” I talked about the Great Commission in this post.

But not all of us are in a position to hop on a plane to India and be a missionary tomorrow.

There’s something all of us can do about those 75,000 people dying each day. We can all do three things to make sure as many of them are going to Heaven as possible.

1. PRAY

Pray and ask God what He wants you to do.

Does He want you to join your church’s prison outreach? Does He want you to call up that friend and ask if they’re going to Heaven? Does He want you to give money to mission outreaches? Or does He want you to simply pray for the strength of missionaries on the field or evangelists in the city right now?

Now, a lot of times, praying is the only thing people do, because it’s free and easy. It doesn’t have to require personal sacrifice.

Prayer is important and powerful; but if we give a quick “Lord, give Your ministers strength” and continue on, we’re not really doing anything. If all God wants us to do is pray, we have to put our all into it—not use it as the easy way out so we don’t feel guilty we didn’t do anything else.

The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
(James 5:16)

2. SOW

I can’t take a flight to Pakistan and join our missionaries right now. So I gave over $1,200 to them last year instead (I mentioned in this post it was only $600, but I found out it was way more?! O_O)

And I’m not saying that to go “yay me.” I’m a fourteen-year-old kid with no job and no allowance. There’s no “yay me” anywhere in that. It’s all God. See what God is willing to do through you if you’ll only let Him and honor Him with everything you do?

It does not matter your age. God is just looking for a willing vessel.

If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.
(Isaiah 1:19)

When God gives us the green light, will we make moves or make excuses?

I’M BEGGING TO BE PINNED OR REPOSTED. JUST HOVER OVER ME!

3. GO

And there are times where we will be in a position to tell someone about Jesus. There are times where He’ll lead us to do something that may be uncomfortable or out of our comfort zone.

But it’s important to obey Him when He says to do it. That man wasn’t obedient to ever share Jesus with his Muslim neighbor—and the neighbor went to hell because of it. Maybe the man was willing, but he never made it a priority.

Is obeying the lead of the Holy Spirit a priority for you? Are you willing to step out and do whatever He tells you to do—with no hesitation?

I’M BEGGING TO BE PINNED OR REPOSTED. JUST HOVER OVER ME!

The easiest way to hear God twice is to obey Him once. The more you step out and do what He’s leading you to, the clearer you will hear that that still, small whisper.

This week, I challenge you.

Start impacting lives today by praying and asking God what you can do to obey Him. It all starts with being willing… and obedient to His call. When God gives us the green light, will we make moves—pray, sow, go—or make excuses?

DO YOU FIND IT HARD TO OBEY GOD WITHOUT HESITATION? (ME, TOO.) WHEN’S THE LAST TIME YOU STEPPED OUT AND OBEYED HIM? TELL ME ABOUT IT!

This is such in inspirational post! I’m also shy and get nervous talking in front of people. Last time it was at my aunt’s wedding and I had to say something in front of the crowd. Let’s just say my sister did it all for me.
Also, whenever you back down from telling someone about Jesus, you’re letting the devil win. So in order to kick butt, keep going and don’t back down.

Same here! I don’t mind getting on stage and speaking, but when it’s spontaneous and I’m not prepared… *shudders*

YES, you are so right! <3

The story about the Christian and the Muslim reminded me of an experience one of my church leaders had. Though, in our church we believe in baptisms for the dead(because the ordinance has to be done on earth)so it isn’t quite as devastating if the person dies before they were introduced to the Gospel.
However I think this was a great post even though we don’t have the same faith. It can be true for whatever religion (I’m meaning like baptist, etc. I really am hopeless at religious knowledge besides my own?)

Thanks so much, Diamond! Haha, same… I’m not as well-versed in other religions. ?

        Yep…?
Just curious, which religion are you specifically? I mean, I know you’re Christian, but so am I and I know we aren’t the same(I’m Mormon btw)

I’m Pentecostal, but not the long-jean-skirt-no-makeup-super-judgemental type. 😉 Basically, I believe in the power of God, baptism of the Holy Ghost, and miracles. However, my ministry is non-denominational so I can work with all branches of the body of Christ. ?

Cool! Yeah, I don’t really know too much about that.

No offense. I just assumed, ’cause I’m bad about that.

            We’re still friends. 😉

XD Of course! I don’t usually mention my denomination because people get all “O_O friendship over” but that’s silly, because we’re all part of the body of Christ. ?

              • Kirstyn Todd April 6, 2018 at 10:34 am - Reply

Yes! Exactly! I’m Saved + you’re Saved = we’re sisters in Christ and WHO CARES if we believe a few different things, as long as we believe in the virgin Birth, Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Blood Atonement, and that the Bible is the Infallible Word of God, we believe the same thing, and as long as we’re both right with God we can be and are friends. Period, stubborn statement, bam-what, end of discussion.

Change my mind. I dare you.

Oh yeah, and God gave me a brand-new pair of high tops last night, which I’ve been wanting for, like, EVER. They’re covered in glitter (AMEN HALLELUJAH) and they light up (EVEN MORE AMEN HALLELUJAH)! Seriously, I wear women’s shoes now, and they have, like, NO women’s shoes that light up, so I was uber happy when the high-tops fit me.

And this post really spoke out to me, because i’ve been reinventing my blog, so that it can be an inspiration and something that can impact people. Now, I realize that the reinventing of my blog was because I need to reinvent it and share Jesus with people, along with my other fun posts!

I’m so glad you shared this post! I have a friend who I don’t believe is a Christian, and sometimes I’m just too scared that she will reject Jesus if I talk to her about Him. I’ve brought her to church several times, and every time she left with a smile on her face, but she just goes right back to her way of life. Do you have any advice on what I should say to her when I do decide to talk to her about it? I’m praying that it will go okay, but it’s just nerve-wracking!

    • Madi April 4, 2018 at 7:52 pm - Reply

Situations like that are always so hard! I’d recommend just slipping little bits into conversation and offering to pray for her if she mentions anything about a hard time. Just keep planting small seeds in conversations — like pointing to Jesus as the answer for life’s problems or how God could help, or just what you’ve been reading in the Bible lately — and the Holy Spirit will work on her heart. I’ll pray that it will go well! Feel free to let me know what’s going on! <3

I’ve been witnessing to my orthodontist, too!! I wear Christian T-shirts when I go and he always comments on them. He even gives us a discount for being in the ministry, so I think he’s open toward Christians, but I don’t think he’s actually saved yet. Try to do subtle but noticeable things like offer to pray for him if he mentions something like “I’ve had such a long day” — the Holy Spirit grows even the tiniest of seeds!

My, friend. I stand in the judgment
And feel that you’re to blame somehow….
ON Earth, I walked with you day by day
And never did you point the way.

You knew the Lord, the Truth and Glory.
    My knowledge then was very dim;
You could have led me safe to Him.

Though we lived together on the earth,
You never told me of the second birth.
And now I stand this day condemned,
Because you failed to mention Him.

    You taught me many things, that’s true;
I called you “friend” and trusted you.
But, I learn now that it’s too late.
You could have kept me from this fate.

We walked by day and talked by night,
And you showed me not the Light.
You let me live, and love, and die,
You knew I’d never live on high.

Yes, I called you “friend” in life,
And trusted you through joy and strife,
And yet on coming to the end,
I cannot now call you “My Friend.”

AND FEEL THAT YOU’RE TO BLAME SOMEHOW
ON EARTH I WALKED BESIDE YOU DAY BY DAY
YOU COULD HAVE LED ME STRAIGHT TO HIM
MY KNOWLEDGE THEN WAS VERY DIM
BUR NEVER ONCE DID YOU SHOW ME THE WAY

I CALLED YOU FRIEND BUT THAT WAS THEN
WHEN WE WERE YOUNG AND BEST OF FRIENDS
LIVING THERE ON GOOD OLE MOTHER EARTH
BUT IT’S TOO LATE – YOU’VE SEALED MY FATE
I’LL NEVER SEE THOSE PEARLY GATES
YOU NEVER TOLD ME OF THE SECOND BIRTH

      1ST CHORUS
AND NOW I’M LOST FOREVER I’M BURNING IN THIS AWFUL PLACE
I’M SUFFERING SO MUCH PAIN HERE AND THRU IT ALL I SEE YOUR FACE
I’M GLAD YOU’RE BOUND FOR HEAVEN AND YOU WON’T REACH THIS BITTER END
OH IT’S SO HARD TO STAY HERE – KNOWING THAT YOU WERE ONCE MY FRIEND

YOU TAUGHT ME MANY THINGS THAT’S TRUE
I CALLED YOU FRIEND, I TRUSTED YOU
WE WALKED BY DAY AND TALKED A LOT AT NIGHT
BUT NOW I KNOW THAT IT’S TOO LATE
YOU COULD HAVE KEPT ME FROM THIS FATE
AND SHOWN ME HOW TO WALK IN PATHS OF LIGHT

YOU LET ME LIVE AND LOVE AND DIE
YOU KNEW I’D NEVER LIVE ON HIGH
AND NOW I STAND THIS DAY AT LAST CONDEMNED.
YES, I CALLED YOU MY FRIEND IN LIFE
AND TRUSTED YOU THRU JOY AND STRIFE,
BUT NOW I FIND THAT YOU WERE NOT MY FRIEND.

      2ND CHORUS
SO TELL OUR FRIENDS ABOUT THE LORD SO THEY WILL MISS THIS AWFUL PLACE.
SO THEY WON’T SUFFER SO MUCH PAIN, AND IN THEIR SUFFERING SEE YOUR FACE
ALTHOUGH YOU’RE BOUND FOR HEAVEN AND YOU WON’T REACH THIS BITTER END
GO BRING YOUR FRIENDS TO JESUS AND THEN THEY’LL ALWAYS CALL YOU FRIEND
TAG: SO BRING YOUR FRIENDS TO JESUS AND THEN THEY’LL ALWAYS CALL YOU FRIEND

I know! I can’t listen to it without tears wanting to come out!

That one line… “But, I learn now that it’s too late…”

It rips my heart in half. Once they’re dead, they’re gone. You can’t bring them back, you have no second chance. If you never showed them the Way, they’re lost forever and you can’t change it. That’s why we need to go out there and spread the Word. People are dying. People who have never heard the Gospel are dying lost. Wouldn’t it break your heart if you got to the Judgement, and God said, “You could have lead that person to Me. Guess where they are now?” I know I would be. I would also be so ashamed of myself. I’d rather avoid that as much as possible. (I almost cried while writing that.)

Oh my gosh, yes, that almost made me cry too. ? So true. There’s really no time to waste.

“…I gave over $1,200 to them last year instead (I mentioned in this post it was only $600, but I found out it was way more?! O_O) And I’m not saying that to go “yay me.” I’m a fourteen-year-old kid with no job and no allowance. There’s no “yay me” anywhere in that. It’s all God. See what God is willing to do through you if you’ll only let Him and honor Him with everything you do?”

Madi, I can tell you are freaking sold-out to God. I can also tell you trust Him to provide you with everything you need to do what He wants you to do. You don’t go, “But God, I can’t make money.” You don’t say, “But God, there’s this really cool new iPhone that costs that much and I want it ASAP!” And you certainly don’t say, “But God, I’m too shy.” There’s no “But God” in your life. God says “Do this,” and you say, “Okay, I’m on it, just give me what I need when I need it like I know You will.” That, right there, is trust. You’re an amazing example for people to follow. Keep it up!

Madi, this post is crazy inspiring! I’m so glad this made its way into my life.

I’ve been a bit distant from Him lately because school has been stressing me beyond my limit and this made me take a breather and reavaluate my siutation. Sometimes I forget how incredibly blessed I am. God gave his only Son to die for me and all mankind way before I was even born. We all have our struggles, and I feel it’s so important to have God present with us through them. This was truely and eye opening post and I will be sure to share it.

P.S. – You are incredibly inspiring and talented. Keep up the amazing work!

      Aww, thanks so much, Liv!

Awww, yeah — life always has a way of crowding out what’s most important. But when we make God first place, everything else will fall into place! Thank you so much for reading and commenting — you’re so encouraging! <3

I love this post so much! How are people supposed to know about God if we don’t tell them? I just need to buck up some courage and actually tell someone about God. :/
You’re amazing, Madi! You’re so dedicated to God and doing His work. <3

Thank you so much, Zielle! It can be really hard… my first time telling someone about Jesus was spent with me awkwardly telling the person I was going to ask them something really embarrassing and I stalled for thirty minutes just standing there, staring at the person and trying to build the courage! It was the worst. ? Luckily there’s a script you can follow right here that’s literally the easiest. https://www.revival.com/revapp/downloads/script_en.pdf

        Okay thanks, Madi! 😉

It was one of my friends, which is why it was so embarrassing XD
