Hey, guys! It’s Monday! I’m so excited to share this sixth way to kick the devil’s butt with you — my fingers are currently flying across the keyboard! Are you ready for the sixth way to kick the devil’s butt in your everyday life?
We studied this subject in an early Next Level meeting one day, and I looked back at my journal and expounded on the snippets we wrote down.
… just in case you forgot your defeat, devil.
Matthew 3:11
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but He that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire!
Well what does fire mean?
I’m so glad you asked. ?
The devil wants us to be insecure and always concerned about what others think about us serving God, but…
God has given us freedom! We’re no longer bound by what the world says or people think. We are free to be all that God has called and created us to be! We are free to live a radical, Spirit-filled life for Jesus.
In the Next Level meeting when we discussed this, our assignment was to quickly write in our journals three things God has helped us to be free about. I wrote down “[free to] worship, [to] speak out, [and be] myself.”
The devil wants to destroy our relationship with God by telling us we’re not good enough or Jesus doesn’t love us… WHICH COULD NEVER BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH, because…
God made a way for us to have a relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ! If we’re saved, Jesus’ blood not only covers our sins but it washed them away COMPLETELY, and now we can come boldly before the Lord! In the Bible it says no man comes unto the Father but by Jesus, Who was the Living Sacrifice for us all. It’s because of Jesus that we can have an intimate relationship with God!
Let’s desire to know more of God each day; to know His Word, to know His Way, to hear His voice, and to have a close, personal relationship with Him!
If we believe in Jesus at all, the devil wants us to make Christianity just another religion packed full with cheesy Christian mantras and overbearing rituals. Religion is man’s attempt to get to God. But God already made a way for the relationship to be restored and for the power of sin to be broken! The devil hates it when we’re open for God’s power to move in and through our lives, so…
Let’s make sure the things of God are important to us! Let’s desire to grow and increase in the Knowledge of God and in His ways and let His love and power flow through us to those in need. God wants to move in and through our lives and has GREAT things in store for us as we let Him do so!
We can’t take any of our possessions with us when we go to Heaven… only souls. How many of our classmates / friends will live in Heaven for their eternity? What will we have to say for ourselves when we make it to Heaven and God asks us what we’ve done with the life, blessings, and resources He gave us on the earth? The devil is all about distracting us from what truly matters in the long run, but…
Let’s let eternity be stamped on our hearts and reflected in the decisions that we make in our lives. We’re not here to play games with the things of God — let’s reach others with the Gospel, plundering hell and populating Heaven!
E is my favorite letter of the F-I-R-E acronym. Eternity is stamped on my heart — ENGRAVED there. It’s a passion burning so deep inside of me that it brings tears to my eyes as I write this and drives me to share the Gospel with the world. I would not wish for even my worst enemy to send themselves to hell by rejecting Jesus. I don’t want to waste the life God has given me and have nothing to say for myself when I get to eternity… not gonna happen! I want to bring everyone I can with me and will keep sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to my last breath…
Because I know these four awesome things God has made available to me — and you do, too!
Which letter is your favorite?
Love you guys so much! If there is no one else praying for you today, I am! ♥
Eeep I love this so so so much! That acronym is perfect — God can truly set us ablaze with passion for him if we only ask him and embrace his love. Great post, Madi!
Isn’t it?! I loved learning about it! And amen! 😀 Thanks so much! 😀
0.0 That was your best one yet, I think! <3
That was so amazing Madi!
I think my favorite letter is "I". Intimacy is something critical in our Christian lives. We cannot shine our lights without a genuine and empowering relationship with our Father, because we cannot authentically spread something we don not feel ourselves!
I’m so glad you liked it! Thanks so much! 😀
Amen! So true! ? It’s pretty darn hard to share the love of God if you haven’t experienced it yourself!
Wow! I don’t even know what to say. You have me thinking really hard about the last one.
E is my favorite! Definitely a good one to think about. 😀 ❤️
Your blog is awesome! I’m glad to have found your blog! My favorite letter is “F.” Freedom is important and we shouldn’t be ashamed to show that we are Christians!
Aw, I’m so glad you like it and that you found it! Thanks for coming! And amen! 😀
I got no words. Just a smile. 🙂
Most crazily, ~Olive
🙂 ❤️
Great post, Madi! I love the acronym! 😀 I really like “E” too. I’ve been reading a book called “Money, Possessions, and Eternity” that deals with financial things from a Christian, eternal perspective. It talked about what you said, that we’re not going to take our possessions to heaven, so shouldn’t we be using our money and gifts to further God’s kingdom instead of buying more unnecessary stuff? It’s a really thought-provoking book. Have you read it? If not, I highly suggest it! 😀
Thanks so much, Allison! 😀
That book sounds awesome! I’ve never heard of that, but I do have a lot of books on that subject — I’ll have to check it out! 😀
So cool! My favorite was ‘F’- freedom. Because so often we feel like we aren’t free to be ourselves- peer pressure, all that- but with God there is true freedom. 🙂
Isn’t it? God’s freedom is amaaazing! We can punch peer pressure in the face. ?
Or kick it in the butt. That works too. ?
or knee it in the groin, squeeze lemons in the eyes, general violence.
Precisely.
“I” was definitely my favorite! Beautifully composed words, Madi! I believe you’ll do great things in the world some day 😉 you know how to execute your thoughts perfectly, and there’s some people out here in the world who really need to hear what you have to say. And by doing these Monday’s with Madi, you’re helping greatly 🙂
‘I’ is awesome! ? Aw, thank you SO much, Maddie! It’s been my prayer to really encourage people with Mondays with Madi, so that means so much! ❤️
I think this is the best monday post yet! Revival Revival REVIVAL. It’s awesome.
I’m so glad you like it! ❤️ YES. REVIVAL. ? FIYAAA!
This was soooo good! 😀 My favorite is all four wrapped into FIRE!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀 I love Monday’s with Maddi! 😀
I’m SO glad you liked this and Mondays with Madi!! Thank you so much, Livy! 😀
Awesome post! Revival is my favorite letter. I need to work more on having an eternal perspective. Sometimes I get so caught up in the here and now.
Thanks so much! I love revival, too. ? Yeah, it’s easy to get caught up in the present. God can definitely help us with our eternal perspective though!
