What to Do When You Need Confidence

I have a lovely little book called God’s Promises for Your Every Need. Its pages are filled with powerful verses from the Word of God for every situation in your life, and I thought I’d share some of the verses it lists for when you need confidence — they’re epic and I know they really help me a lot!

I mentioned in the first way to kick the devil’s butt in your everyday life, choosing joy, that our words have power. It’s important to declare the Word of God over our life and circumstances, not speak negativity. When in need of confidence, these are some awesome verses to declare!

All verses are in NKJV, but I recommend checking out the NLT translation if you need to understand certain verses better — NLT puts it very simply and in modern language.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

Pretty much everyone knows this one — but take it seriously! Jesus has given His power and authority to use to carry out His works on the earth — check out Mark 16:15-20! We can do all things through Him.

Hebrews 13:6

So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

???

Philippians 1:6

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Habakkuk 3:19

The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on high hills.

(Who know this was in Habakkuk? I didn’t.)

When God is your strength and confidence, you don’t tread through low valleys of despair and depression. He makes us walk on HIGH hills! Jesus only takes us to new levels! ?

Romans 8:37

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

One of my favorite verses E-V-E-R. Not endurers. Not barely-getting-along-ers. Not conquerors. MORE than conquerors! ?

1 John 14-15

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

God is a good God who withholds nothing good from His children! He loves to bless us and fulfill the desires he places in our heart.

John 14:12

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these He will do, because I go to My Father.

The NLT version helped me understand this one in better context because I was confused who the “he” was. Jesus is talking about us and how He has given us the power and authority to do what He’s done.

Zechariah 4:6

So he answers and said to me, “This is the Word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.

Who else cracks up at Zerubbabel and tries to say it out loud in different pronunciations because it’s funny? Sorry, Zerubbabel.

Just me? Okay.

We can’t do things in our own strength. God and His Spirit are on our side, we can be confident of that!

Isaiah 43:2

When you pass through waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.

Dang. How’s that for a confidence booster?

Proverbs 3:26

For the Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught.

Dude. You mean God is my confidence? King of the universe? Creator and Giver of life? My Best Friend?

Yep. ???

Ephesians 3:12

In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.

Isaiah 40:31

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

^ What happens when God backs you up. ?

Ta-da! These verses totally encourage and empower me and are epic to declare over your life. I also recommend checking out God’s Promises for Your Every Need! (< Buy it through my link and support our missionaries!) It’s an awesome, handy, powerful little book.

What’s your favorite confidence verse to declare?

Tomorrow is September first! ? I’ve already begun leisurely outlining my novel with K.M. Weiland’s Outlining Your Novel Workbook, but tomorrow I really hit it hard. I’ll be sure to post lots of updates! I’m super excited! ?

Love you guys! If no one else was praying for you at 7:00 this morning… I was!

Loved this post Madi!! My favorite would have to be “The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on high hills.” Because it’s simple and down to the point. No fancy words are taking away from the main point, it’s fast to the fact and so true. He will be your strength. Done. Bam. Drop the mic. XD

Hey, I have the same book! (Actually it’s on lend from a friend,) Except with a different cover. Isn’t it such a great book!
I like that you put a bunch of the verses in a post.

By the way, I tried to click on your link, and it just took me to Amazon, not to the actual page…

I’m praying for your family during the hurricane.
