What’s the Truth?

Oprah recently said a statement along the lines of “share your own truth.”

But there is only one Truth.

The world is full of people “sharing their own truths.” Many demonic agendas are trying to take over. How do we know what to believe? How do we know what’s true?

I’m begging to be pinned, just hover over me!

THE BIBLE IS THE STANDARD OF TRUTH..

And people can’t really argue with you on this one. They’d need to be arguing with the following:

The truth of the Lord endures forever.
(Psalm 117:2)

Your word is truth.
(John 17:17)

The entirety of Your word is truth.
(Psalm 119:160)

For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in truth.
(Psalm 33:4)

“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
(John 8:31-32)

Whew! I had to stop there or I’d take up the entire post with all the references.

WE NEED TO DIFFERENTIATE THE DEVIL’S LIES FROM GOD’S TRUTH..

The devil is a liar?

For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.
(John 8:44)

I think heck yeah. The father of lies, no doubt. Who’d want to listen to that guy?

(Hint: NOT YOU.)

From the demonic lies the world tries to shove down our throats with their agendas to the own thoughts that go on in our heads, we must separate the lies from God’s Truth. Otherwise, we could live our lives in defeat… or go down a variety of wicked paths that lead to hell.

HOW DO WE DIFFERENTIATE THE TWO?

The Bible’s got you covered! Compare everything the world tries to sell you to the Word.

I’m begging to be pinned, just hover over me!

For example:

Is homosexuality okay?

Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.
(Leviticus 18:22)

Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who … practice homosexuality.
(1 Corinthians 6:9)

No, it’s not okay.

Is gossiping about other people behind their backs okay?

Do not spread slanderous gossip.
(Leviticus 19:16)

Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip.
(Romans 1:29)

No, not okay.

Can kids / teenagers be ministers for the Gospel too?

God … has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
(2 Corinthians 5:8)

[Take Heed to Your Ministry] Let no one despise your youth.
(1 Timothy 4:12)

Yes, they can!

Is abortion okay?

You shall not murder.
(Exodus 20:13)

Children are a gift from the Lord.
(Psalm 127:3)

No, it’s not okay.

Do we have authority over our circumstances and the ability not to let them define our lives?

He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
(1 John 4:4)

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. → I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works.
(Matthew 28:18 → John 4:12)

Heck yeah!

When the world tries to serve you lies from the pit of hell, compare it with the Word of God. When you feel like you have low self-esteem or are aren’t feeling confident, refute whatever lies you are believing with Truth from the Bible.

STAND UP FOR THE TRUTH..

For we cannot oppose the truth, but must always stand for the truth.
(2 Corinthians 13:8)

Don’t back down and start agreeing with deceived people because of peer pressure or you want to fit in because those are literally the lamest reasons in the entire world. Kind of makes me want to barf all over my keyboard.

Jesus isn’t a weeny, and He delegated His authority to you so you wouldn’t have to be one, either. Let the world know Whose you are and What you stand for.

I’m begging to be pinned, just hover over me!

That said, never attack people or get into an argument. Be disrespectful to the devil, not people. You’ll end up looking like a hate-speaker.

Never hate on people. Jesus didn’t call us to be haters. Don’t be anti-Islam—be pro-Jesus. Don’t be homophobic—be pro-Biblical-marriage.

love people. So much. Sinners and all. I can love them because God loves me! (Awwwe.) Accept people for who they are, love them into the Kingdom of God, share the Truth and let it change their lives instead of attacking them.

CONCLUSION

Creative subheading, I know.

I have a challenge for you.

This week, use God’s Word as a standard for Truth against lies the world throws at you or even your own thoughts. Then stand on it and don’t back down for anything. Watch God honor you when you honor Him! (1 Samuel 2:30)

the truth is many things, many things are truth. it just depends on what questions you want answered. Aaaaaand now I shall stop trying to sound like a jedi master, and go actually read the post. 😛
yep, yep. *nods* very nicely put.
uhhg, madi don’t barf on your keyboard, your mom will probably make YOU clean it all off, and it’ll probably be ruined anyway.
hmmm. i end up in a lot of fights/arguments. i can never tell if its me or other people….*sigh* the problems of a hot head. how do you firmly put out your beliefs WITHOUT ending up in an argument? c’est impossible!
    Most crazily, ~Olive

p.s. my mom was teaching my sibs and i another drawing lesson, and we were supposed to be drawing pagodas, but we were to busy drawing little ninja climbing all over them. XD

    • Madi January 24, 2018 at 5:18 pm - Reply

      XDD Thanks for reading it!

Waaa, true. But it was so barf-inducing!

Me too. And I always think of the perfect defenses AFTER it’s over and I’ve made a big dummy of myself. The best thing to do is just not to argue back. State what you believe, and let people attack it if they want. It’s their waste of breath and you don’t have to sink to their level of arguing if you don’t wanna. XD

P.S. HAHA, that sounds like something I would do. XD

      • Olive January 24, 2018 at 5:58 pm - Reply

Same. ? But I LIKE arguing! ☹️ (Until people start getting nasty, then it’s no fun.)
        Most crazily, ~Olive

This is cool! I don’t just believe in the Bible, I also believe in the Book of Mormon. I imagine you’ve heard of it, and you can probably guess what religion I am. If you ever have any questions, I can do my best to answer them. There are a LOT of misconceptions!

My parents are protective, too, and it’s not a bad thing at all. With so many dangerous things on the internet, I’m glad my parents put a priority on righteousness and integrity. ?

Nice post! The world nowadays is so distorted, I’m so horrified that I have no words for it. Literally. When my mum or dad tells me about something that is NOT according to the Bible I’m just like, “Wait WHAT?! Why is that happening?” And they’re like, “Yeah, the world is like that now.” @_@

    • Madi January 24, 2018 at 5:43 pm - Reply
